The Pozzo Transformation Of Watford FC

When it comes to the legacy of Watford Football Club, the football club is infamous for what its lacking performances that have kept them in the fourth division. Far from their glory days during the 1980s. However this luck changed after the purchase of the football by Gino Pozzo in 2012.

Pozzo showcasing that he was putting his efforts into the transformation of this team after moving his family to London to ensure he had a hands-on involvement in Watford’s growth. Determined to make this transformation the most ambitious project yet. But Gino Pozzo is not some out-of-nowhere upstart. He’s the son of two football enthusiasts with Giampaolo, Gino’s father, purchasing their hometown Udinese Calcio team and raising them to the glory they’re known for now with Giuliana Pozzo, Gino’s mother, also being related to previous owners of Udinese Calcio.

Where his parents built the foundation, Gino Pozzo has been expanding their legacy within the football industry. This has been through a combination of his scouting driven model that has led towards team success plus Pozzo’s international expansion within the sports world with the acquisition of Granada FC, a third division team that was suffering from massive debt back in 2009. Two years later, Gino Pozzo’s talents led the underwhelming team to Primera Liga, the top position in the Portugal Football League.

With a mixture of passion and the finances to make change, Gino Pozzo aids in ushering in a new era of investing in the teams’ people love. Specifically, the ones who need the financial boost and effort put into them. The positive changes even being reflected through a brief interview with Scott Duxbury, the Watford FC’s chief executive who expressed reservations about the acquisition but has seen firsthand the positive change that Gino Pozzo has brought to the table.
