Alliance Defending Freedom – World’s Largest Legal Organization Committed To Protecting Religious Freedom

An organization committed to protecting religious freedom. The Alliance Defending Freedom is the world’s largest legal organization dedicated to defending religious liberty and the sanctity of life, marriage, and the family. Since 1994 ADF has been at the center of virtually every high-profile religious liberty case in America–defending clients like Masterpiece Cakeshop, Hercules Industries, and Carl’s Jr., as well as children in public schools who want to read their Bibles during recess or pray before lunch.

  1. Early Life

Alliance Defending Freedom was founded in 1994 by James C. Dobson, D. James Kennedy, and Ronald Reagan’s Attorney General Edwin Meese. ADF was born out of deep concern for the freedom of Americans to live and work according to their beliefs without harassment from the government. The organization was formed to protect religious liberty—the freedom to live out one’s faith in family, community, and workplace without interference from the government or others.

  1. Career

The Alliance Defending Freedom has a highly skilled and motivated legal team that has developed an “aggressive,” statesmen-like approach to cases. ADF lawyers are successful because they work systematically, starting with identifying clients and causing people who believe in religious liberty to contact them with their concerns. Next, the organization sends out formal questionnaires to those contacted; this helps narrow down the number of potential clients. Next, ADF researches possible legal action using a professionally trained team of lawyers; finds experts, including forensics experts specializing in sexuality and gender identity issues; and connects with others across America who want to join the fight for religious freedom.

  1. Achievements

Alliance Defending Freedom has helped gain victories for religious liberty in the U.S. Supreme Court, state supreme courts, and lower federal courts. The organization has also gained support for religious freedom by organizing and participating in numerous rallies and public events. One of the organization’s most high-profile cases, Burwell vs. Hobby Lobby (2014), allowed companies to make faith-based hiring decisions without facing government penalties. Another case, Christian Legal Society v. Martinez (2010), sought to protect the rights of Christian student groups at public universities.

To be successful in your academic career, you will need to be able to articulate your ideas. It would help to write out what you want to say and then edit it. This will not only help you learn how to express yourself and teach how to write concisely, but it will also force your brain to think through the content of what you are writing, which helps with learning, recall, and comprehension.
