In recent news, the company announced that it would be delaying the release of its new Call of Duty game MMO based in a sci-fi world called “Black Ops 4.” The Chinese government has asked Activision Blizzard to suspend its launch in that country until after the 2022 National Games. Several other gaming companies have questioned whether or not the Chinese government forced he to delay its launch due to political reasons. Heresponded to those claims, stating that they fully understand the importance of all games in China and that they had no idea how long their new game would take until they got plenty of feedback from players.

In other news, he announced that it would be acquiring a majority portion of King Digital Entertainment, the makers of Candy Crush Saga, for 5.9 billion dollars. The company underwent an Initial Public Offering (IPO) in March 2014, the same month that he purchased 44% of the company. In mid-2017, the company announced plans to buy back over half its shares from the public markets.
