The Colcom Foundation was started to combat
some of the effects overpopulation has on the environment around us. The founder knew from a young age that we did not have the resources to support the level of need for the size of our growing population here in the United States.

Unfortunately, at the time she was first realizing the issues that we faced society as a whole was not concerned with it and to bring it up in public would have you labeled as crazy and overreacting. Now things that we commonly talk about from being from the States being overpopulated were things that she saw back then. Due to people not believing it was an issue before The Colcom Foundation was not created until later in her life.

That just goes to show that as long as you are alive it is not too late to make a change and start something bigger than yourself. When you think of a foundation that supports causes to help combat the effects of what we currently have done due to overpopulation you probably think about things like different ways to conserve the resources we do have and while that is true.

The Colcom Foundation has some other things they are passionate about that will more directly stop the overpopulation at its source. First, they support family planning services such as birth control. That is important to stop more unplanned or unwanted children from adding to the population.

Another thing they support is stricter immigration laws. Colcom Foundation is among the primary sources of funding directed towards the United States anti-immigration movement. That funding helps organizations like the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS), the American Border Patrol, the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR), and Numbers USA.
