The Alliance Defending Freedom has never failed to go to bat for causes it believes in. The group has worked hard over the past three decades to create its fair share of case law. Its goal has always been to protect the Christian conception of justice and morality. This extends to every area that politics, culture, and the law are involved in.

This may well be the reason that the Alliance Defending Freedom has managed to gain such a high level of notoriety. The group has stood up for the causes that it believes in. For example, it has gone to court to protect the rights of people both in and out of the U.S. The rationale behind doing so is to prove that religious liberty truly is for everyone.

The application of this contention has meant that Alliance Defending Freedom has had to put its money where its mouth was. It has done so by standing up to defend the rights of many people who were threatened by irreligious or unpatriotic persecution. These have included people whose political beliefs may fall under the heading of libertarian or conservative.

However, this is not to say that the Alliance Defending Freedom is a legal group that makes a political issue out of every new challenge. Some issues are purely personal, cultural, or religious in nature. These are the kind of situations in which the ADF has gone to bat for people such as the Jehovah’s Witnesses, Shia Muslims, Mormons, or Jews.

In 1998, ADF launched the Center for Faith and Cultural Engagement (CFCE). CFCE works with faith-based organizations, churches, and ministries to defend religious liberty while retaining their integrity and independence as ministries.
