Colcom Foundation Sounding Off About Overpopulation

The Colcom Foundation, founded by Cordelia May, was founded to make a positive impact on the environment and how putting a strain on it can change the course of humanity. The Colcom Foundation is performing many environmental tasks research to help better understand the imbalances of nature, how population plays a role, and what can be done to mitigate the damage.

Humans have been putting a great deal on the earth for decades. Destruction, pollution, overpopulation, drought, and much more has helped escalate the imbalances that currently exist. Many people downplay the real chance of an extinction event. It has happened before, and most likely happen again.

The Colcom Foundation is utilizing a number of tools to preserve the environment, cut down on water degradation, and keeping ecosystems in balance. The world population also plays a huge role in the ecological footprint. Right now, The Colcom Foundation is supporting a number of local environmental and conservation projects. Colcom Foundation’s work has also facilitated proactive environmental advocacy and protection by groups, including the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy, WeConservePA, Westmoreland Land Trust, Protect PT, and Fair Shake Environmental Legal Services.

They are currently placing emphasis on over 700 acres of greenspace to address any negative impacts and what can be done to preserve the waters and lands. These lands are focused primarily in counties in southwest Pennsylvania.

Colcom Foundation continues to stress the point of overpopulation and the negative role it plays in the current problems. It is essential that every continent play a role in reducing the population or everyone will suffer.

“America has over 1,300 species that are currently endangered. And despite all the billions of dollars that have gone towards the environment, the dangers continue.” says Karen Shragg.

The Foundation is still concentrating on doing its part in preserving the environment and sounding the horn over the real problems with overpopulation. Colcom continues to make grants in the name of Cordelia May in an effort to meet the humanitarian objectives. Visit this page for additional information.
