The Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) is an international organization that defends people’s rights of religious freedom, free speech, parental rights, and holds life sacred and believes in God’s design for marriage and family. They began in 1994 as Alliance Defense Fund, but also supports people of other faiths, and no faith, around the world.

Religious Freedom

The Alliance Defending Freedom believes that everyone has the right to worship who and what they want, and that government should not oppress anyone based on their religious beliefs. Businesses have the right to refuse service to those they do not agree with, such as same-sex marriage, and the government should not try to control them.

Freedom of Speech

The Alliance Defending Freedom has had over 400 victories protecting freedom of speech for students around the country. They believe that it is important to preserve people’s right to disagree and debate, and not be silenced for their beliefs. Everybody has the right to be heard.

Sanctity of Human Life

The Alliance Defending Freedom believe in the sanctity of all human life, from conception to death. They fight to help preserve life in different ways, such as intervening in medical cases, and promoting pro-life ideas.

Parental Rights

The ADF believes that parents have the ultimate say in how to raise their children. They deal with harmful policies enacted in some schools, such as the Critical Race Theory, and try to prevent these policies from violating the students’ and parents’ rights.

International Work

ADF helps defend Christians and other religions from persecution around the world. They are involved with several other international organizations, such as the UN Economic and Social Council, the European Parliament and Commission, the Organization of American States, the EU’s Agency for Fundamental Rights, and the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe.
