Matthew Mansell And His Corporation Business Model For Athlo

Matthew Mansell is a former pro rugby player and the Athlo founder, one of the most-known fitness platforms. Having been in the business for a long time, he understands how competition works in the market but also values cooperation.

He believes that some of the biggest successes businesses accomplish are not always those they get at the expense of competitors but those they get with their help. While the cooperation philosophy is not new in the market, it is not as common as the ‘take no prisoners’ one that many startups go by.

Many startups depend on market disruption to get level with the competition, and one of the ways they achieve this is by changing the status quo.

If Matthew Mansell had used the displacement analogy when launching Athlo, it would have come at the expense of fitness centers and gyms. However, he saw a better way where everyone could benefit.

Also referred to as the next fitness unicorn, Athlo serves three variations of clients. Some want to sign up for the app services for personal use to curate gym memberships and classes.

Others want to sell or trade their classes and memberships to other app users. Finally, fitness centers and gyms are on the app to grow and retain client memberships.

When asked why he chose that approach, Matthew Mansell said he wanted to confront the pain points that many gym brands have with aggregators. Therefore, he folded them into his business model instead of luring clients away from brick-and-mortar fitness facilities.

This model has been made possible by people’s increased interest in health and wellness globally. The worldwide fitness industry had an estimated value of $87 billion in 2022, and experts predict that it could grow to around $439.6 billion by 2028 in the US alone.

The platform’s launch after the effects of the pandemic started reducing also made it better for the corporation business model to work. Visit this page for related information.
