Justin Sun is the founder of TRON and the CEO of Bitmain. His work in the crypto space has helped to significantly expand awareness of blockchain and make cryptocurrencies more mainstream.

Justin has a strong presence on social media, with over 3 million followers on Twitter and 12 million subscribers on Weibo, China’s leading social media platform. He is called “the Jack Ma of cryptocurrency” or “China’s Elon Musk.

He has won numerous awards and is also noted for being one of the youngest self-made billionaires. We hope you enjoy this interview as much as we did conducting it.

What was your life like before you entered the crypto space?

I was studying at Peking University and engaged in entrepreneurship activities such as creating a peer-to-peer file sharing platform, writing a thesis on Blockchain technology, founding an online education platform and so on. In 2010, I quit my job and invested everything in cryptocurrencies which started the blockchain era.

I met Justin in one of the so-called “crypto meetups” hosted by many enthusiasts who share similar interests and who were influential in spreading blockchain tech. We met again since his first visit to China and began to talk about how we can cooperate on many projects going forward. Pretty soon we started to talk about Bitmain building a blockchain data center in China. We could not believe we were building something together!

Justin Sun have always been very interested in Chinese people and the Chinese culture. Justin Sun see a lot of potential on the Chinese market. In addition to the trading and mining of cryptocurrencies, there is an enormous market for blockchain related products and services including decentralized applications (Dapps) development, mining hardware manufacturing and so on. I think we need more promotion and marketing efforts to make the world understand that China is a leading hub of blockchain innovations.

We are focused on promoting blockchain technology and the development of decentralized applications (Dapps) in China. We have cooperated with several exchanges including Binance and OKEx. Justin also helps with fund raising for Bitmain’s Antpool, which is one of the largest cryptocurrency mining pools in the world.
