Lisa and Nathan Marley could not envision living anywhere else but London as real estate expert Nick Millican recalls. The couple were keen to purchase a home but were priced out in London. Though they loved living in London, sometimes the crowds and hectic lifestyle were a bit too much. 

They had been renting a flat in Muswell Hill but decided to move and bought a flat in Bedford for £200,000. It didn’t take long for the couple to realize the move had been a mistake. After nine months of living in Bedford, the couple decided to move to Whitstable. Nick Millican informs how they planned to rent while they were house-hunting but faced a problem right away. No landlord wanted to rent to them due to the couple’s shih tzu dog. 

The Marley’s were forced to rent a flat on the outskirts of Margate. During this time, Lisa’s career changed. Lisa had trained as a pastry chef and ran cupcake decorating workshops. The pandemic effectively stopped her from doing any cupcake decorating workshops. And real estate agents such as Nick Millican are very aware of this situation. 

Lisa had previously changed to a plant-based diet, and during the pandemic, she became a private nutrition coach and plant-based chef. Meanwhile, Nathan continued to work in the hospital. Lisa sometimes has to commute to London for work but now lives in Margate thanks to their previous landlord. These are details that Nick Millican has to take care of. 

Luckily, the Marley’s dog-friendly landlord agreed to sell the couple the £250,000 Margate home. The couple loves living on the coast. They enjoy taking walks on the beach visiting galleries, restaurants, and bars. Real estate expert Nick Millican has often noted that more and more people are leaving London to pursue home ownership.
