On January 12, 2017, Business Wire ran an article providing information about the second annual Inspired by Israel video contest. The competition was created by the Adam and Gila Milstein Family Foundation to inspire and educate people about Israel. Contestants are asked to submit videos for the chance to win cash prizes. The total cash available is $20,000 with $8.000 going to the grand prize winner.
The Foundation is partnering with 12Tribe Films Foundation and Israel Video Network who will host the contest. The Milstein’s believe the competition gets the message out that the people and places of Israel are inspiring and amazing. They also wish to highlight the innovations created by Israelis. The video submissions are open to everyone regardless of their background, faith, or age and are an opportunity for videographers to show why Israel inspires them.
Entrants from the last year numbered about 100 from several countries and were created by professional and well-known filmmakers and amateur students from all levels including college, high school, and yes, even kindergarten. Last year’s entries received over 500 views during a two-week public voting period.
After the public voting, independent experts pick the winners. These experts include Gila Milstein, David Suissa, and Michael Dickson. Those interested in entering the contest must register by February 1, 2017, and finished videos need to be submitted by March 6, 2017.
Adam Milstein’s family was part of the founding of Israel in the late 1940s, and they instilled their love and commitment for their homeland to their son. As a young man, Adam fought in the Israeli army alongside Ariel Sharon to help ensure that safe future.
After earning several degrees by graduating college in Israel, getting married, and moving to America, Adam received an MBA from USC. He then began a lucrative career in real estate. Adam honored his parent’ teachings and along with his wife co-founded the Adam and Gila Milstein Family Foundation to support the Jewish people.
